Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End gets epic new story trailer, potentially “borrows” art from Assassin’s Creed

Did they? Didn’t they? Who knows…but it sure looks like it.

Naughty Dog unveiled a brand new trailer for their upcoming Action Adventure epic, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, giving a bit of insight into the game’s narrative. It shows both a young Nathan Drake evolving into the gun toting adventurer we know him to be, and a man struggling to get himself out of the life-threatening game that treasure hunting has become. In other words, the game looks great and it’s not likely to disappoint fans of the series.

One other tidbit of note from the trailer is the image below, which has drawn the ire of a developer on Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag.

The developer, Azaïzia Aymar wrote a post on Twitter acknowledging the unquestionable similarities between the image above and a piece of concept art used for Black Flag, pictured below.

Quick Take: I’m not a big fan of shitting on developers for the sake of starting drama, but there’s no denying that these two images look identical apart from the pirate being absent from the image in Uncharted 4. For all we know, it could be a sign of respect from the guys at Naughty Dog as Black Flag is widely considered to be the last great Assassin’s Creed game, and A Thief’s End looks like it will deal heavily with pirate themes. So until we know more, let’s keep our adult pants on.
